AV-TEST Product Review and Certification Report – Mar/2024
In March 2024 we evaluated 14 mobile security products for Android using their default settings. When conducting our tests, we always used the most current version of all products. The products were allowed to update themselves at any time and query their in-the-cloud services. We focused on malware detection and usability, including performance and false positives. The products had to demonstrate their capabilities using all components and protection layers. Further information on the compliance of this test with the AMTSO standard can be found here.

![Disguised malware attacks Windows – Cyberattackers are constantly seeking and finding new ways to attack Windows systems. That is why the team from AV-TEST, in its Advanced Threat Protection tests, examines whether the current protection programs also detect the latest attack techniques. In cases where they do not, the attackers load malware lightning-fast and launch it. In the latest test, the experts subjected the systems to the most recent malware 10 times. However, the attackers come disguised and concealed in MSI packages, executed via script interpreters, swapping out the main components in a process or combining the techniques. 21 products for consumer users and corporate users face off against difficult tasks involving stealth attacks. The outcome shows that some vendors do a perfect job. But the test also demonstrates that some products cause unnecessary suspense, yet in the end come out on top against malware.](https://www.av-test.org/fileadmin/_processed_/8/8/csm_0624_EPP_Aufmacher_16ce13841f.jpg)

![Security software put to the test under MacOS Sonoma 14.3 The major test of security software for consumer users and corporate users for MacOS took place in the AV-TEST lab for the first time under MacOS version Sonoma 14.3. The 12 products examined were required to show how they held up in the categories of protection, performance and usability. The results are impressive: many products achieved the highest scores in the test, thus standing out as good choices. Only one product, which for years had completed almost every test in flying colors, surprisingly experienced a glitch.](https://www.av-test.org/fileadmin/_processed_/e/b/csm_0525_macOS_aufmacher_03b6a7fb65.jpg)
