MILAN — Max Irons is no stranger to Milan since his girlfriend Sophie Pera was born in the Italian city, but this season he flew in just for the Hogan presentation on Saturday. Irons just wrapped up filming the TV series “Tutankhamun,” which also stars Sam Neill and was shot in South Africa. “I was in every single scene, and we filmed in the desert from September to December, so it was quite intense,” said the affable Irons, who played the role of archaeologist Howard Carter, who discovered the tomb of famed pharaoh. Of South Africa, the actor said its “recent history is potent, still alive and kicking.”
Irons is working on the movie “Blood Over Water.” The film is based on a true story and the book by David and James Livingston, the brothers who raced against each other in the 149th Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race. In the movie, “I rowed for Oxford,” said Irons.
