As part of an Arts Media and Entertainment Institute upcoming event in Burbank, Variety Intelligence Platform will sponsor the “State of the Creative Industries Panel” on Thursday, June 27.

Featuring journalists and leadership specializing in film, music, gaming and more, the event will address where the entertainment world currently stands and how it may evolve.

VIP+ President and Chief Media Analyst Andrew Wallenstein will moderate the panel, joined by Variety’s own Senior Artisans Editor Jazz Tangcay and Associate Art Director Tarryn Silver, journalist Sarah Parvini, Catherine Yi of United Talent Agency and The Ankler’s staff writer Elaine Low.

The event is part of the 2024 edition of AME Institute Burbank, which will provide some 600 educators the chance to engage and network with entertainment industry professionals via workshops, training seminars and panels. Among the highlights are kickoff speaker Vivica A. Fox, the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus and programming by Adobe, Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery.

AME Institute is an educational nonprofit supported by the Snap Foundation and Sony Pictures Entertainment and an official partner of the California Department of Education. By providing industry-focused resources and development opportunities to educators, the institute hopes to widen access to high-earning creative roles for students with otherwise limited access to the industry.

The Burbank event is a cornerstone of the AME Institute’s mission to strengthen the pipeline between public education and the creative fields. Last year’s AME Institute Burbank event hosted educators from over 120 schools — some 67% of which were Title 1 schools — and 71 entertainment industry partners.
