“Brat” kicks off with a song titled “360” and ends with one called “365,” and includes intriguing track names like “I Might Say Something Stupid,” “Girl, So Confusing,” “Apple” and “Mean Girls.” Charli dropped three singles leading up to the full album release last Friday, starting with “Von Dutch” and then a viral remix featuring a satisfyingly blood-curdling scream from Addison Rae and additional production from longtime collaborator A.G. Cook. In April, she released “Club Classics” and B2b.”

Before “Brat,” Charli contributed the song “Speed Drive” to “Barbie” starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. “Brat” is the follow-up to 2022’s “Crash.”

In his review of Charli’s latest album, Variety chief music editor Jem Aswad writes that she’s “launched a bold new chapter.”

“It’s a sound that combines what she’s done before with new elements,” he continues, writing that “the album changes moods surprisingly smoothly with nearly every track, not just musically but lyrically: The songs swerve between boastful swagger and shriveling insecurity and vulnerability, and are autobiographical in their conflicted feelings about fame, success and her own worth.”

In addition to vinyl versions, Charli also announced a deluxe edition featuring three additional songs that will release on Monday, June 10 at midnight. For now, it seems the deluxe edition (which swaps out the original album art’s lime green imagery with a black-and-white monochromatic design) will only be available to purchase on MP3 and CD.
