Hillary Clinton is not a regular grandmother, she’s a cool grandmother.
The Democratic presidential nominee recently caught the eyes of many millenials after a conspiracy theory linking her to Death Row Records – yes, that rap label formerly helmed by Suge Knight – surfaced online. Clinton was the center of a viral internet meme after Twitter users compared her outfits from all three presidential debates to those of Knight, Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg.
And on Wednesday, which was also her 69th birthday, she finally addressed the Death Row Records meme during a radio interview on 105.1 FM’s The Breakfast Club. Co-host Charlamagne Tha God showed her the meme, and she couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
“I think Death Row and a lot of other fashion sources have influenced my look, don’t you?” the mother of one -and grandmother of two – joked after being showed the image.
During the interview, the former New York senator also name-dropped another influential rapper. Clinton enthusiastically chatted about Jay Z‘s upcoming Nov. 4 concert in Ohio aimed at urging young, black voters in support of the #WithHer campaign. “I’m thrilled to have his support because I think one of the biggest jobs that I will face – assuming everything goes well – is how are we going to heal all these divides,” she said.
To top it all off, Clinton received a special birthday surprise when she was serenaded by Stevie Wonder.
