Pop star Selena Gomez is a high-fashion femme fatale in her music video for “Kill Em With Kindness.”
The moody, black-and-white video opens with shots of Gomez getting prepped for a photo shoot and then posing expertly for her portraits. In slinky satin gowns and a neutral backdrop, the subdued set seems inspired by iconic celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz. Gomez, who’s certainly a cover star pro at this point in her career, proceeds to manage a lot of hair-flipping while shooting sultry gazes at the camera as she sings: “The world can be a nasty place / You know it, I know it, yeah / We don’t have to fall from grace / Put down the weapons you fight with.”
A cadre of eclectic dancers joins Gomez to close out the video with a healthy dose of attitude.
This is the fourth single off of Gomez’s 2015 album Revival. She’s currently in the midst of her stadium tour, which launched last month.
