Fans who were left wanting more from the season 3 finale of Netflix’s House of Cards can rest assured: The political drama has landed a fourth season.
The announcement came Thursday in a tweet from the official House of Cards account, reading: “I will leave a legacy. #Underwood2016” with an image that reads “SEASON 4 COMING 2016.”
Production for the show, which follows Frank (Kevin Spacey) and Claire Underwood (Robin Wright), a ruthless Washington D.C. power couple with high political aspirations, is scheduled to begin this summer.
[Warning: Spoilers ahead!]
Season 3 proved quite divisive (see related content), and its finale wrapped on a cliffhanger. Frank, who took over as president in the season two finale following Walker’s departure, beat Heather Dubar in Iowa, putting him in a good position for his ongoing presidential campaign. But his personal life wasn’t looking so good. In a shocking twist, Claire left him. Then there’s that whole Doug killing Rachel thing…It’s a lot to digest, but hopefully there will be some resolution come 2016.
