In just three weeks, Saturday Night Live’s current head writer (and TIME cover star) Seth Meyers will head over to Late Night to take over for Jimmy Fallon. But last night, Meyers officially ended his 13-year SNL run. Since he spent the past eight years as co-anchor on the show’s Weekend Update segment, it only made sense for him to bid his farewell from behind the fake news desk.
After Meyers delivered his final joke—one about weed, obviously—his co-anchor Cecily Strong brought out two of Meyers’ old SNL pals: former co-anchor Amy Poehler and Bill Hader. Hader, of course, was in character as the flamboyant New York City correspondent Stefon.
“We are so proud of you. You’ve been the heart of the show for over a decade,” Poehler said. “You’re like the Sting of SNL,” Stefon added, “Because it takes you 12 years to finish.”
A few other SNL all-stars even made cameos too. Watch here as Meyers says goodbye with a little help from his friends.
