Details are trickling in on Larry David’s new Broadway production, Fish in the Dark, which will begin preview performances on February 2 and open March 5.
The project—previously called Shiva—centers around the death of a family member and will feature David in a role with a personality similar to his own, The New York Times reports.
David’s co-stars will include Jayne Houdyshell, a Tony Award nominee for Well; Oscar nominee Rosie Perez; Jonny Orsini, from The Nance; Jake Cannavale from Basilica; and Jerry Adler, who played Tony’s advisor and friend Hesh Rabkin on The Sopranos.
Producer Scott Rudin, who revealed the date of the show’s opening night, has a strong record of producing hit shows, like Book of Mormon. Tony winner Anna D. Shapiro, who helmed both the Steppenwolf and the Broadway productions of Tracy Letts’ Pulitzer winning August: Osage County, will direct.
