Melvin Gordon said goodbye to Broncos fans with O.J. Simpson meme

Melvin Gordon had a risqué goodbye to Broncos fans.

A short time after the veteran running back was released by Denver, Gordon took to his Instagram Stories, where he posted a photo of himself superimposed over O.J. Simpson driving a white Ford Bronco during Simpson’s infamous 1994 police chase in Los Angeles after he was suspected of murder.

“Hahaha boy y’all fans was hell lmfaooo,” Gordon wrote. “Thank y’all too broncos country. Let’s atleast laugh on the way out.”

Gordon also denied a sordid rumor on the way out. On Twitter, a user posted that Gordon blasted music by Future — who was previously involved with Russell Wilson’s wife, Ciara — in the Broncos’ locker room and that the quarterback demanded his immediate release.

“Cap ….” Gordon tweeted, meaning that it this was a lie. “Y’all stop this mess !!… I ain’t even built like this.”

The 29-year-old Gordon is in his eighth season in the league and was in his third year on the Broncos after spending five seasons with the Chargers.

This season, Gordon carried the ball 90 times for 318 yards — an average of 3.5 yards per carry — and two touchdowns. However, he fumbled five times.

Gordon cleared waivers on Tuesday, which means he is an unrestricted free agent.

The Broncos have had a nightmare season. After trading several draft picks, including two first-rounders for Russell Wilson, Denver signed him to a five-year, $245 million extension. The team was expected to compete for the playoffs and even be fringe Super Bowl contenders but sits at 3-7 instead.
