Insane Floridians swim, get pummeled by wild waves in ocean during Hurricane Ian

Insane Floridians were seen swimming in the Gulf of Mexico as Hurricane Ian winds whipped the ocean waves around them into a frenzy.

Footage of the three foolhardy swimmers went viral Wednesday as the west coast of Florida braces for the devastating impacts of the Category 4 storm.

The swimmers were getting pummeled by waves near a pier in Fort Meyers, which is expected to get an almost-direct hit by the hurricane.

“DO NOT DO THIS,” local reporter Brenna Weick wrote on Twitter. “I can’t stress enough how dangerous this is.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis warned many of his residents early Wednesday that it is too late to flee the “catastrophic” wrath of Ian, which might strengthen to a Category 5 storm. The storm is already clocking 155-mph winds.

“It’s time to hunker down and prepare for this storm,” he stressed. “Do what you need to do to stay safe. If you are where that storm is approaching, you’re already in hazardous conditions. It’s going to get a lot worse very quickly.”

In another terrifying video, a Florida man uploaded footage of him trying to ride out the storm in a boat.

The Miami boat owner posted the video Tuesday to much shock online.

“I have to make sure that the ‘floating home’ makes it unharmed,” he said.
