Ana de Armas: ‘Blonde’ nudity will go viral but I ‘can’t really control’ it

Ana de Armas is this generation’s version of Marilyn Monroe in the new NSFW Netflix film “Blonde.”

The Andrew Dominik-directed drama is rated a rare and staggering NC-17, and is full of sexual scenes and nudity.

De Armas, 34, is well aware that certain intimate scenes will circulate on the internet. But she feels that there is nothing she can do about it.

“I know what’s going to go viral, and it’s disgusting,” the Cuban actress told Variety in a recent profile.

The “Knives Out” star continued: “It’s upsetting just to think about it. I can’t control it; you can’t really control what they do and how they take things out of context.”

She added about her nude scenes being extracted from the flick: “I don’t think it gave me second thoughts; it just gave me a bad taste to think about the future of those clips.

“I did things in this movie I would have never done for anyone else, ever,” de Armas pointed out. “I did it for [Monroe], and I did it for Andrew.”

“Blonde” is set to hit Netflix on Sept. 28 but had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month where de Armas received a 14-minute standing ovation.

The film is based on Joyce Carol Oates’ 2000 novel of the same name and also stars Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Xavier Samuel, Toby Huss and Julianne Nicholson.

De Armas was so intent on portraying the screen icon’s life story as accurately as she could that she and the crew visited Monroe’s grave in Los Angeles to ask for her permission.

“We got this big card and everyone in the crew wrote a message to her. Then we went to the cemetery and put it on her grave. We were asking for permission in a way,” she said in an interview with AnOther Magazine.

The “Gray Man” actress added: “Everyone felt a huge responsibility, and we were very aware of the side of the story we were going to tell — the story of Norma Jean, the person behind this character, Marilyn Monroe. Who was she really?”

Dominik, 54, previously said that he knew he found his Monroe when de Armas walked into the casting room.

“It was like love at first sight,” Dominik said at the Venice premiere. “When the right person walks through the door, you know it.”
