Anna Sorokin friend suing Netflix over ‘Inventing Anna’

Lawsuits are so very VIP

Former Vanity Fair photographer/reporter Rachel DeLoache Williams wrote the book “My Friend Anna: The True Story of a Fake Heiress.” HBO bought rights to this fake-o German heiress saga. New York Magazine did the article. NY Times ballyhooed it as a Must Read. Netflix produced its series “Inventing Anna.”

On Netflix most names were fictitious. But Rachel, portrayed on it as buddies with Anna Sorokin, was ID’d. She’s now suing Netflix for defamation.

Claiming she was “falsely portrayed as greedy, snobbish, disloyal, dishonest, cowardly, manipulative, opportunistic,” sponging off Anna then abandoning her in Morocco. In fact, Williams was the one who turned Sorokin over to the authorities.

Mutty world

Earth is now a plaid.

Once dogs were German shepherd, French bulldog, Yorkshire terrier, Afghan hound, Belgian Malinois, your backyard mutt.

Now Westminster has 3,500 entrants. If this column runs too long could be 3,600. Labradoodles. Cockapoos. Border Chows.

In days of yore — back when whatsisname was getting spritzed with Gitche Gumee — you’d wear one plain cotton blouse for years. Buy one now. Wash the thing once. It bubbles. Shreds. Pakistan, Korea, India, Thailand, China, Guatemala offload tons of wearables that never laid next to cotton.

It’s petrochemicals. Synthetics. Cellulose. Man-made from fossil fuels — coal, oil. Identical substances as our car engines. Sprawl under your automobile’s hood — same thing.

Your blouse? How’s denim, flannel, crossweave, corduroy, crepe, terry, nylon, viscose, plisse, Lycra, rayon, calico, broadcloth, basketweave, jersey, lawn, gauze, gingham, polyester, voile, canvas, chambray, cheesecloth, chenille, lace, leatherette, chino, whatever’s warp and weft, cambric, chiffon, poplin, seersucker, pique, organdy, toweling, moleskin, mousseline, damask, charmeuse, see-through, brushed cotton, organic cotton, 71 types of differing “cotton,” Jacquard, bengaline which is who knows what, Orlon, linen.

Today’s dress-up outfit is motor oil.

Booking talks & walks

Coming up Monday, the 92nd Street Y will host Katie Couric in-person and online for her new memoir “Going There” … One year after prospective NYU student Devesh Samtani was killed in the Hamptons, the hit-and-run death driver who pleaded guilty has still not served jail time. The Samtanis just hired attorney Ben Brafman.

Big Beverly Hills contingent moving here. Why? The town’s so rich its food baskets go to whoever has only one swimming pool. Their unemployment line does a free car wash. And watch. Soon NYC’s influx of illegal immigrants will get a complimentary caviar bar.

Only in New York, kids, only in New York.
