Cops looking for woman who set fire outside Brooklyn yeshiva

A woman poured gasoline on a Brooklyn yeshiva and sparked a fire, according to new video and police.

The unidentified suspect doused a fenced-off area with the propellent from a gas can at Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School, at 1609 Avenue J in Midwood, around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, video released early Friday shows.

She then ignited it and fled the school, police said.

A yeshiva security guard doused the fire with water, causing it to extinguish, authorities said.

The then suspect fled on foot, in an unknown direction, cops said.

No injuries were reported. The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating.

Detectives were still looking for the firebug Friday. She is described as about 5-foot-4 with an average build and dark hair, and was last seen wearing all dark-colored clothing, black shoes and carrying a red gasoline canister.

A photo police released later Friday morning shows the suspect holding a blue megaphone. It is unclear whether she said anything during the incident.
