R. Kelly promised teen stardom for sex: testimony

Another R. Kelly accuser testified Monday that the disgraced R&B star promised her stardom as a young aspiring singer in exchange for sex — and berated her when she contracted herpes from him.

“I was 17,” the alleged victim told jurors in Brooklyn Federal Court. “Every single time we had sex I had discomfort in my lower abdomen and pelvis. It got to the point where I couldn’t even physically walk.”

“Initially, he joked and said everyone has it, not a big deal,” she said, referring to herpes.

The woman, now 23 and identified as Jane Doe 5.,  said the “I Believe I Can Fly” crooner eventually prodded her, “I think your p—y is broken.”

She broke down on the stand about the diagnosis and said a Kelly associate named “Juice” took her to a doctor for a prescription.

“I had contracted STD herpes — vaginal herpes,” she testified. “I was devastated. This man purposely gave me something he knew he had. That he could have controlled.”

She said Kelly did control her life for years, forcing her to have an abortion in 2017 and making her record a video falsely accusing her mom of abuse.

“I know you are young but that’s no excuse to destroy me,” she said Kelly told her when he learned she was pregnant.

Doe took the stand as the second victim to testify against Kelly, whom she met in 2015 during his “Black Panties” tour. The singer had his associates give the then-teen his number with the warning, “Don’t tell anyone,” she testified.

When the two met up at his room in the Dolphin Hotel in Orlando under the guise of an audition, Kelly told her he needed to sexually relieve himself before he could watch her audition for him, Doe testified.

He forced her to strip down to her underwear and coaxed her into letting him perform oral sex on her, she said.

“I didn’t necessarily care for that,” she said. “I just wanted to sing.”

She said he then promised, “I’ll take care of you for life.”

Doe said she traveled with Kelly over the summer — with the singer continuing to molest and humiliate her by ejaculating on her.

“He would make me leave it on my face to harden,” she testified. “He did ejaculate on my face and let it harden.

“His wardrobe stylist came in and I had hardened semen on my face,” she said. “They started laughing. I felt very humiliated.”

She described the alleged abuse in horrific detail, testifying that Kelly would chastise and punish her “every two, three days,” and leave her with “bruises and sometimes it would make my skin tear.

“It felt terrible,” she said in a shaky voice.

At an Atlanta Hyatt Hotel, Doe said Kelly became enraged when she admitted that she had told a friend about their relationship.

She said he attacked her with “an open palm and closed fist,” striking her in her face, arms and “all over my body.”

He then took a size-12 shoe from the closet and hit her with that, she said.

In Chicago, she said Kelly punished her for buying sweatpants that were smaller than he demanded for her, locking her in a room for “three or four days,” with food brought to her by an assistant.

She said she was ordered to wait 30 seconds after the assistant knocked on the door so she couldn’t see who was bringing the food.

She said she witnessed the ex-pop star abusing other girls, dragging them by the hair and hitting them with shoes and other objects.

“I felt like I needed to listen even more because that could happen to me,” she said.

After the summer of 2015, Doe said she had to return home.

“I had to go back to my senior here of high school,” she testified. “I let him know I was 17. I was very scared. He slapped me in the face with an open hand and walked away.”

Still seeking stardom, she eventually left home again and was homeschooled her senior year — while living in Chicago with Kelly, she said.

Her testimony is continuing Tuesday.

Last week, another alleged victim testified that Kelly made her wear her hair in pigtails and don a Girl Scout uniform when they had sex.

Kelly, 54, is facing nine counts of racketeering, with prosecutors accusing him of sexually abusing girls and women and enlisting cohorts to recruit victims. He faces 10 years in prison if convicted.

He also faces charges under the Mann Act, a 1910 law that forbids transporting “any woman or girl” over state lines for “immoral acts.”

Prosecutors contend he kept a harem of underage girls that he molested at his Chicago mansion and elsewhere under strict rules of conduct.

Kelly, who has been locked up at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since July 2019, has denied the allegations.

He faces similar charges in Illinois and Minnesota.
