Girl survives family massacre by playing dead, then FaceTimes granny

A 10-year-old Texas girl played dead when a masked gunman mowed down her family on Wednesday – then FaceTimed her grandmother from the scene of the bloody massacre, a report said.

“Granny, someone came in and shot me, my mom, my dad, and my sister, and they dead,” the kid said, according to a description given by family member Angela Ervin to KTRK.

The girl’s parents and 6-year-old sister were lined up on the couch of the Houston apartment, then shot in the head one by one, the girl told police.

She then showed her grandmother and other family members the gruesome aftermath on FaceTime, according to the TV station.

The girl was shot in the arm and in the hospital, Assistant Police Chief Patricia Cantu said in a media briefing posted to Facebook.

“She was in the house for about 15 minutes with the bodies until we got here,” Ervin told KTRK.

A 1-year-old brother in the apartment was spared and an 8-year old brother wasn’t home at the time of the killings, KTRK said.

The assistant police chief said there were no signs of a break-in and that cops were looking for surveillance footage to identify the shooter, who is still on the loose.

“This is probably not a home invasion,” Cantu said during the police briefing. “But right now, we don’t have all the details and right now we’re just looking for a suspect to see what happened.”
