Redskins turn to Dwayne Haskins after Case Keenum concussion

Dwayne Haskins is under center for the Redskins.

The rookie quarterback took over against the Vikings on Thursday after starter Case Keenum ended up in concussion evaluation before the start of the second half.

It’s unclear when Keenum could have suffered the concussion. He has been ruled out for the remainder of the game. He finished the night 12 of 16 for 130 passing yards.

Haskins, the No. 15 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, is a hot topic for the struggling Redskins, as it emerged he was not the ideal pick for now-fired coach Jon Gruden. There have been plenty of questions surrounding his readiness and pedigree, with interim coach Bill Callahan preferring to keep Haskins watching and learning from the sidelines.
