Elon Musk trash-talks Goldman Sachs over Model 3 production target

Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk is a little touchy when it comes to questioning whether his company will meet his goal of producing 5,000 Model 3 autos a week.

Musk, after failing to meet previous target dates, said Tesla would finally meet the goal this week.

Goldman Sachs doesn’t believe the company will hit the target — and issued a report telling the world as much.

“They are in for a rude awakening,” the trash-talking Musk wrote in a staff email.

The email — a copy of which was obtained by CNBC — specifically referred to Goldman Sachs analyst David Tamberrino, who wrote the report and reiterated his sell recommendation.

At Tesla’s annual meeting earlier this month, Musk called hitting the target “quite likely.”

Tesla did not comment on Wednesday when asked by The Post what its Model 3 run rate was at the moment.

Wait for next week’s announcement about quarterly deliveries, the company said.
