Untangling Cristiano Ronaldo’s bizarre family situation

Cristiano Ronaldo scores again!

The soccer star, 33, has netted four World Cup goals over the past week and a half, as his Portuguese squad defeated Morocco 1-0 and tied Spain 3-3. But his numbers were upstaged by a diamond — an $815,000 Cartier whopper that his girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, sported during the Morocco match, held in Moscow.

The jewelry sparked rumors that the duo are engaged. Meanwhile, a photo from Gran Canaria’s Fashion Week, of Rodriguez in a figure-hugging skirt, fueled speculation of a baby bump.

“No, I’m not pregnant,” Rodriguez told Hello Magazine, calling her curves a result of traveling and eating too much pasta. The 24-year-old — who gave birth to the couple’s daughter Alana in November — did offer a clue about the couple’s plans: “[I]n the future, we’d love to have more children.”

Fatherhood has become an integral part of the life of Ronaldo, who is in an unofficial rivalry with Barcelona’s Lionel Messi for the title of best player in the world. Like any proud papa, Ronaldo’s Instagram is full of snaps of him with his brood, which includes Alana, as well as his 8-year-old son, Cristiano Jr., and 1-year-old twins, Eva Maria and Mateo.

“Becoming a parent and raising my family is honestly the greatest privilege I’ve had. I’m enjoying every second of it,” Ronaldo told Hello. “It’s taught me things about love I never knew existed. It has softened me and given me new perspective on what is really important in my life.”

However, his methods for having children have been rather unconventional. The twins were carried by a surrogate, while his eldest’s maternity is a mystery. Untangling his baby-mama web has become an international sport in itself.

In July 2010, Ronaldo shocked the world when he announced he had become a father to Cristiano Jr. At the time, he was dating model Irina Shayk — who was not the mother. (Shayk and Ronaldo split in 2015.) One report suggested he had impregnated a woman during a one-night stand and paid millions of dollars to have full custody of his child.

Another said he paid a surrogate. But Ronaldo hasn’t copped to either, telling television host Jonathan Ross, “People speculate I was with this girl or another, or there was a surrogate mother. I have never told anyone and never will.”

Last June, he muddied the maternal waters even more when his twins were born via a confirmed surrogate near San Diego, Calif. At the time, Rodriguez — whom the soccer star had been dating for at least eight months — was three months pregnant with Alana.

Manhattan fertility expert Dr. Joel Batzofin said it’s rare for single men, especially straight ones, to choose surrogacy.

“Most people do surrogacy as a measure of last resort.” Batzofin told The Post. “I’m not going to tell you it’s hugely common but I [do] see it now more than I did five years ago.”

The process is prohibitively pricey for many, since egg donation plus carrying the child can cost up to $100,000, according to Batzofin. But that is chump change for Ronaldo, who reportedly earned $93 million last year.

Perhaps he’s found his permanent baby-mama in Rodriguez. The pair reportedly met at a Dolce & Gabbana event in Madrid and were first linked in November 2016, when they were spotted at Disneyland Paris.

If her fancy ring is any indication, the pair seem committed to building a family the old-fashioned way. Just how many more children might be up to Ronaldo’s first heir.

“He wants more brothers and sisters,” Ronaldo told the Portuguese paper Correio da Manha. “He wants seven, the magic number” — that is, Ronaldo’s jersey number — “and I think that’s good.”
