Political YouTube video featuring Cuomo remains unpaid mystery

Funding for a star-studded YouTube video — featuring Gov. Cuomo vowing to protect minority groups and immigrants from the Trump administration — remains shrouded in secrecy, with its $30,000 in production costs still not paid for.

The video, titled “We Are New York” and released in May, was funded by the nonprofit New Yorkers United Together.

On Thursday, one of NYUT’s three co-founders, public-relations guru Ken Sunshine, said he didn’t know who funded the group.

Co-founder Steven M. Cohen, a former top Cuomo aide, also said he didn’t know and claimed the group had raised less than $5,000 toward the video budget. Cohen was also mum on what individuals or companies remained unpaid. As a nonprofit, the NYUT does no lobbying and intends to disclose its donors annually, Cohen said.
