Good Samaritans keep saving this homeless man from extreme danger

The mentally ill homeless man who flirted with death by sitting on the edge of a subway platform attempted a similar stunt above ground afterward — by lying down on a Greenwich Village street, it was revealed Thursday.

The unidentified man was spotted “literally lying down in the middle of Eighth Street” at around 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to a neighborhood resident who snapped a photo of the incident.

A good Samaritan “forcibly removed” the man from danger by dragging him off the street — only to have to do it again when the man returned to the asphalt, the source said. “He was absolutely insane,” the source added.

“When he was removed a second time, he began to very aggressively menace people for money by walking up about six inches from them and screaming nonsense.”

Earlier Wednesday, The Post photographed the man talking to himself while dangling his legs over the rails inside the West 4th Street station, where he finally heeded the warnings of onlookers and limped away before a train arrived.
