‘Knocks’ out

The NFL lockout has knocked out TV’s most popular sports show.

HBO says it will be unable to present “Hard Knocks” this training camp, due to “the uncertainty of the NFL’s summer schedule.”

The five-episode series takes a behind-the-scenes look at a team preparing for its season. Last summer’s series, featuring the Jets, drew record ratings.

HBO says the series will return in 2012.

The NFL lockout started in March and did not end until this week.

HBO says the league’s “incredibly expedited timetable” made it impractical for a team to commit to the show.
