He was supposed to be getting hitched, but instead, he got held in Brooklyn Criminal Court on rape charges.
Livery driver William Giraldo, 24, was detained yesterday in lieu of $200,000 bail for the most recent of four brazen Brooklyn sex attacks.
The arraignment was watched by his fiancée — on what was supposed to be their wedding day.
Giraldo’s pretty bride-to-be vowed to stand by her man, despite charges he choked, raped and robbed a 28-year-old woman in her Sunset Park building Saturday.
“What can I say? He’s the best! I’m still marrying him!” said the fiancée, identified by a neighbor only as Sondra, at his Bensonhurst home.
Giraldo contacted cops Tuesday and said he was the man seen on a Dunkin’ Donuts surveillance video police had released. That video showed a man wanted for Saturday’s attack and three prior attempted rapes.
Giraldo denies committing any of the crimes, and claims he was heading to an airport on a job at the time of the rape.
He was arrested after Saturday’s victim picked him out of a lineup. The others failed to ID him.
The NYPD’s Internal Affairs Bureau is investigating whether police botched their handling of the first assaults.
Cops refused to watch a home surveillance video of that attack after it occurred, waited a month to obtain it, and prematurely closed the case, sources and residents said.
