The drowning that took place in California is what happens when you have a bunch of lawyers and regulators running the country (“First Non-Responders,” Editorial, June 5).
You cannot even do “good” anymore.
We are drowning in a sea of regulation and law.

Have Californians become so blasé that they can watch a man drown as if a movie was being filmed?
It is bad enough that civilians stand around with their hands in their pockets — but police and firemen?
Their inaction was shameful both to themselves and their profession, and their reasons for their non-rescue are ludicrous.
I recall The Post’s coverage of a story about an NYPD cop who went into freezing water to save a dog trapped under a Hudson River pier (“NYPD Rescues Pooch From Hudson River,” Jan 7).
Life might be sweet in the Golden State, but apparently it is also cheap.
