Robbed of $2,500
A woman was held up at gunpoint and robbed of $2,500 as she opened the door to her East 91st Street home on March 4.
Police were told that the woman had just entered her home between Clarkson Avenue and Lenox Road at 2:10 p.m. when suspect Michael Roswell, 57, allegedly grabbed her from behind and pulled a gun on her.
He then forced the woman into her home and robbed her of her cash, police alleged.
After a brief investigation, cops caught up with Roswell on March 12, charging him with robbery in the first degree, burglary in the second degree and criminal trespass.
What a pair of units!
Cops arrested two men caught allegedly trying to turn a warehouse heating vent into a doorway.
Officials said that James Maffia, 40, and John Wishinski, 54, were found on the roof of the Glenwood Mason Supply Company, 1539 Troy Avenue, at just after 11 a.m. on March 11, allegedly ripping the side panel over the cooler/heater unit in a failed bid to get inside.
Responding officers took both men into custody, charging them with attempted burglary and possession of burglar’s tools, when a hatchet, a screwdriver and a drill were found in their possession.
Drunk behind the wheel
A 34-year-old was arrested on drunk driving charges last week after he was caught blowing through traffic lights in East Flatbush, police alleged.
Police said that Fitz Gay was seen behind the wheel of a 1999 Nissan Altima as it allegedly passed through a steady red light without stopping on East 49th Street near Foster Avenue.
When he was pulled over, he was administered a Breathalyzer test, for which he scored a .181 percent — well over the legal limit, police alleged. Cops also said his driver’s licence was suspended.
Chain grabber grabbed
A 19-year-old thief was arrested last week — seven months after he allegedly ripped a chain off another man’s neck on Caton Avenue.
Police alleged that Deshawn Murden was arguing with the victim at 1:30 a.m. back on September 14 when he shouted “you know who we f–king are?” and ripped the chain off his neck.
After a brief investigation, cops took Murden into custody on March 10, charging him with robbery in the second degree, grand larceny and petit larceny.
Cab driver shot
A cab driver was held up at gunpoint in Flatlands Saturday night and got a lot more than he gave.
The 55-year-old victim told police that he was standing outside his car near the corner of East 56th Street and Avenue I during the early-morning hours of February 28 when an unidentified man with a gun approached him.
The thug demanded his money, but the cabbie refused, reportedly fighting the thief off.
The gunman opened fire during the ensuing scuffle, hitting the cabbie in his left hip.
The thief ran off empty-handed, police said. The cabbie was transported to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition after treatment.
Cops were still looking for the gunman as this paper went to press.

Help wipe out graffiti
As the ongoing war against graffiti vandalism continues, cops are now offering a $500 reward to anyone with information that can lead them to graffiti vandals.
The hefty reward is part of the city’s new push to rid New York of graffiti, which is one of the leading quality of life complaints brought to police.
Officials said that cleaning up graffiti is essential to the plan, to show that the community is no longer going to tolerate marred and tagged-up walls and street corners.
According to police, there is a perception that if a community will tolerate graffiti, they will tolerate other criminal activities, such as drug dealing and prostitution.
