A little late to the boat on this one, but Avenged Sevenfold and TWENTYFOURCORE Productions has created a 27 minute long tribute video to drummer Jimmy Sullivan aka The Rev, who passed away last December.
The fact that I’ve been a fan of Avenged for years notwithstanding, this may just be one of the best tributes to a deceased musician that I’ve ever seen. (And that includes the entire Michael Jackson memorial service.) Watching the video – a combination of interviews, home video and personal photos – you really get a sense of what the Rev was all about, on stage and off, and why his bandmates and fans loved him so much.
Still no word on when their new studio album – which the Rev worked on – will be released. Prior to The Rev’s death, singer M. Shadows had said that it was due out in July.
