PREGNANT WOMAN DEAD AFTER VAN JUMPS CURB IN MIDTOWN

A pregnant woman was crushed to death by a drunk driver today after his out of control supermarket delivery truck hopped a curb near the Empire State Building and careened into a crowd of people.

“It happened so fast,” said witness Alex Binyaminov, who was just feet away when the Gristedes Van plowed into the victim — who sources identified as Ysemny Ramos, 29 — on 37th Street, near Fifth Avenue at 5 p.m.

Witnesses said a passenger was hanging out of the van hooting at the victims just before the vehicle inexplicably accelerated, mowing down the victims and slamming into a building.

Two other people — including the victim’s friend — were also hurt and rushed to Bellevue Hospital, but no one inside the bank was injured.

Moments after the chaos unfolded, Binyaminov raced to help.

“I saw a lady pinned down underneath the car,” he said.

But the woman “asked me to help her friend who was pregnant.”

By the time he made it to the pregnant woman — an administrative assistant at a nearby architectural firm — it was too late. “She was already gone,” he said.

Cops slapped cuffs on the driver, Keston Brown, 27, of the Bronx, and charged him with drunk driving and manslaughter, sources said.

His passenger who was hollering at the women “came out of the van like nothing had happened,” witness Marlon Contreras said.

The dead woman’s coworkers were devastated at the news.

“She was loving woman,” said James Tittle, a designer at the firm. “She was so kind and sweet. It’s a shame that she had to leave the earth this way. She was a really good hearted person.”

In a separate incident an hour earlier, a taxi jumped the curb on Amsterdam Avenue near West 106th Street and hit pedestrians before smashing into Mama’s Pizzeria.

Frances Rivera was inside the restaurant with her children, 8 and 4, when the SUV cab plowed inside.

“It didn’t have a full impact but it was enough of a crash to send my kids flying in the air,” she said.

Her older child suffered minor glass cuts. “I’m more traumatized than anything else,” Rivera said.

Witnesses said the cab was competing with another car to make a turn when it lost control, skidded and hit a pole, then veered into the pizzeria, leaving a trail of broken glass and wood.

Authorities said no tickets were immediately issued.

Police said one person dition at Harlem Hospital. Two were reported in stable condition and four other with minor injuries at St. Luke’s Hospital.
