IMPULSE-CONTROL E-MAIL KILLER ARRIVES IN NICK OF TIME

This message will self-destruct in five seconds — but only if you want it to.

Google’s Gmail users can now use an “undo send” feature that allows them to kill e-mails moments after being sent. But many Google users have lamented that five seconds is not enough to realize they’ve possibly made a terrible mistake, so now the Internet behemoth plans to give them more time to say “Oops!”

“That’s probably the Number 1 piece of feedback we’ve seen,” Gmail product manager Keith Coleman told The Post.

“A 10-second option will soon be added, and we may also allow for even longer delays.”

“Undo send” is one of dozens of experimental features introduced by Google Labs, but has already proven to be among the most popular, Coleman said.

Another new feature asks users, after they hit the “send” button, if they intended to include a file attachment if the word “attach” appears in the body of the message.

“Anything that helps users save them from themselves has been extremely popular,” Coleman said.
