DYING WISH

A potential new show from “Survivor” host Jeff Probst might as well be called “Non-Survivor.”

The show, tentatively called “Live Like You’re Dying,” is in play at CBS and would feature people with terminal illnesses going on “the last adventures of their life,” Probst told EW.com.

That could include reunions with lost friends and family, a “legacy moment” that will ensure their name carries on forever and living out a personal dream.

“It could include playing guitar with Eric Clapton or jumping out of a plane into a volcano,” Probst says.

“Whatever it is that you’re still desiring to do in your life – we want to make it happen.”

At least one charitable organization that had been approached by producers to participate in the show believes it is a tough sell. “These kind of circumstances can be extremely intense,” an official said. “Maybe a little too intense for some viewers.”

“The focus of the show is not death,” Probst told a reporter. “The story we’re going tell is about living. This is a show that is intended to inspire everybody to get the most out of their lives every day.”

Filming on the pilot is slated to take place in January.

If the show gets picked up, each episode would focus on a different person.

The most recent attempt at a similar concept was NBC’s “Three Wishes,” in which Christian music superstar Amy Grant crisscrossed the US granting wishes to deserving small-town folks.

Other “feel good” reality shows like “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” which rebuilds the homes of “deserving” families, operate along similar lines, but with a far less intense outcome.

Probst’s boss, reality guru Mark Burnett, will executive produce the show with Probst, while the show will be run on a day-to-day basis by a former producer of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and “Trading Spaces.”

The show is still in its earliest stages and if the network does pick it up, it won’t air until next year.
