COP-SHOOT WIFE: IT WAS KILL OR DIE

Killer wife Barbara Sheehan – who shot her cop hubby last month in their Queens home – said yesterday she pulled the trigger to save herself from being killed.

“If I didn’t do it, I know it would have happened the other way,” she told 1010 WINS radio. “If I could go back, I would take it back and try to do something differently.”

Sheehan claimed that her retired NYPD sergeant husband, Raymond, beat her regularly and threatened to kill her if she ever tried to leave him.

“He had said he could commit the perfect crime and that . . . no one would ever find me,” she said. “He knew exactly what to do.”

Sheehan looked calm, and even cracked a smile, as she appeared briefly in court yesterday for a hearing that was quickly adjourned until next month. She is charged with murder and free on $1 million bond, after shooting Raymond while he was shaving in their bathroom Feb. 18.

She has admitted to the shooting but is claiming self-defense.
