Journalism students at Manhattan College have their first exposé: what they charge is a bait-and-switch scam at their Riverdale school.

Many say they chose the Catholic school because of its full communications curriculum. But now its nearly 50 course offerings will be halved next school year – after a partnership ended with the College of Mount St. Vincent.

“My grandpa went to Manhattan. My uncle went to Manhattan,” said aspiring TV anchor Jessica Zimmerman, a sophomore who’s transferring to Stony Brook University.

Manhattan College’s director of college relations, Lydia Gray, said in a statement, “Manhattan is in the process of fine-tuning a dynamic communications curriculum that will launch in the fall of ’08 and is currently building a state-of-the-art studio as well as hiring faculty.”
