CHICKEN ‘ROASTER’ CONFESSES

A Bronx chicken-joint owner told cops he torched his competition after getting drunk on New Year’s Eve, court papers revealed yesterday.

The documents quote Kabeer Ahmad saying, “I went out drinking last night [New Year’s Eve] and after I got drunk I went to the store at 870 Hunts Point Avenue about 3 a.m. and told the customers and employees that the store was closing and that everyone must leave.”

Then, he said, he punched a hole in the wall, sprayed gasoline into the adjoining Twin Donuts store and tossed in a match.

He blamed Twin Donuts for a 30 percent drop in business in his store because it had added fried chicken to its menu.

Despite his confession, he pleaded not guilty to arson at his arraignment yesterday and remained behind bars in lieu of $250,000 bail.
