PATAKI’S PAC GOING $TRONG

ALBANY – Gov. Pataki’s interest in running for president became clearer yesterday as newly filed federal records showed that his Virginia-based political-action committee raised $630,418 over the past three months.

The lame-duck governor has been using PAC money to fund trips to key early presidential contest states like Iowa and New Hampshire, and to make targeted contributions to prominent Republicans.

Pataki’s report to the Federal Election Commission showed he had raised a total of $1.1 million so far this year, and had another $1.1 million remaining in the bank.
