NICOLE’S AN URBAN WOMAN – GOWN SCARE AS SHE WEDS KEITH

Not even a haute couture hiccup could stop Aussie actress Nicole Kidman from getting the wedding of her dreams, a world away from Hollywood.

Kidman, 39, married country singer Keith Urban, 38, in a romantic evening service yesterday at a clifftop Roman Catholic church in Sydney, Australia. Both the bride and her Grammy-winning groom sobbed as they made their vows by the light of 1,000 candles.

“Boy from Oz” star Hugh Jackman sang a Peter Allen classic, “Tenterfield Saddler,” and later, at a garden reception, the new husband serenaded his wife with his hit song “Making Memories of Us,” before Russell Crowe had the crowd laughing with a hilarious speech.

The star-studded guest list included Meryl Streep, Renée Zellweger, Naomi Watts and Baz Luhrmann, who directed the bride in the Oscar-winning “Moulin Rouge.”

The perfect wedding was momentarily threatened early in the day when Kidman stepped into her hand-stitched Balenciaga “chalk-colored” dress and it didn’t quite fit, according to a report by The Australian newspaper.

The exquisite flowing gown had to be altered at the last minute by a seamstress, who was rushed to the scene.

There was no sign of any anxiety, however, when Kidman arrived at the church. Her smile was enormous as she rolled down the window and waved to the thousands of fans gathered outside the church.

Her face partly obscured by a veil, Kidman walked down the aisle on the arm of her father, Dr. Antony Kidman, as the Sydney Symphony Orchestra Quartet played.

Isabella, her daughter adopted with first husband Tom Cruise, followed her mother down the aisle as a bridesmaid.

“We just want to thank everyone,” the newlyweds said in a statement.
