DA HITS CHELSEA CLUB-SLAY ‘SHOOTER’

The batty bouncer accused of shooting four people outside a Chelsea nightclub last month – killing one and leaving another paralyzed – has been indicted on charges of murder and attempted murder, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office announced yesterday.

Stephen Sakai, 30, of Brooklyn, allegedly shot the men outside the club Opus 22 the night of May 23. He has been held without bail ever since.

He is due to be arraigned July 12 in front of Judge Charles Solomon in Manhattan Supreme Court, and faces 25 years to life if convicted of the murder charge.

Prosecutors said Sakai shot Ian Davis, 21, in the groin after the two got into an argument. He then allegedly shot Davis’ friend Julian Cuadros, 28, in the throat, leaving him paralyzed and on life support.

Sakai then fatally shot Gustavo Cuadros, 25, in the head and blasted Yeison Correa, 23, in the back, prosecutors allege.

Sakai’s lawyer, Edward Wilford, has said he “won’t rule out a psychiatric defense.”

In a jailhouse interview with The Post last month, Sakai claimed someone else fired the shots.

Brooklyn prosecutors also are looking at Sakai in connection with the murders of three of his acquaintances last year.
