THREATS ON PIGSKIN HAZE KIN

Threatening letters sent to the families of three high school football players allegedly sodomized by their teammates were apparently written by the same twisted person, Nassau County police said yesterday.

“There is fear, alarm and concern,” said Lt. Andrew Fal, commanding officer of Nassau County Police. “The people who received the letters are scared.”

Fal said two letters – “threatening in nature” – had been sent earlier and a third was received last weekend.

“It appears likely they were all written by the same person,” said Fal, adding that the first two anonymous, handwritten letters were postmarked in Queens.

The letters warned parents and supporters of the victims they would be sodomized with broomsticks unless they stopped speaking out about the case.

A parent who spoke on behalf of the victims said last week he had received a threatening letter.

“It’s this simple: Keep your mouth shut and nothing will happen to you or your family,” Jim Rullo said, quoting from the letter.

Rullo received the letter four days after he read a statement from the mother of one of the victims during a school board meeting. The statement was critical of the school administration and coaches.

Three varsity players at Mepham High School have been accused of sodomizing three younger teammates with pine cones, golf balls and a broomstick at a training camp in Pennsylvania in August.
