WEEKEND TRAIN WOE

With 18 out of 22 subway lines experiencing construction delays this weekend – and some not running at all – many New Yorkers are railing at the MTA for failing to provide extra signs, announcements and manpower.

“The extra time wasn’t what was so bad,” said Deborah Foley, 51, of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. It was that no subway personnel or signs were available to guide her.

Foley said her G train trip from Queens took an extra 20 minutes and involved three trains rather than two. She had to transfer at 23rd Street and Ely Avenue, where she said there was no one to guide riders.

The C train in Manhattan and Brooklyn isn’t running this weekend. The E from Queens is running down Sixth instead of Eighth Avenue in and Manhattan.

The F train is skipping Delancey Street, Second Avenue, East Broadway and Broadway-Lafayette Street.

The MTA did not return calls for comment.
