Fischer Frey was a wizard who started attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 2008 and was a member of Slytherin house. He was the older twin brother of Colby Frey.

Biography

First year

At the age of eleven, he and Colby began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Slytherin house. They befriended Cassandra Vole, and she led their group in bullying their fellow students including Daniel Page. After their first Charms lesson, they challenged a fellow student to a duel. Colby duelled them first in the Duelling Club and lost. Fischer then duelled them with Cassandra in a Duo Duel. Robyn Thistlethwaite helped the student and they beat Cassandra and Fischer. She blamed it on the Freys, telling the student beating a Frey wasn't a feat.

One day, the student caught Colby and Fischer with a Bombtastic Bomb Box in the Grand Staircase. They were planning to use it to prank Argus Filch. When they asked what it was, Colby tried to deny that there was a box but Fischer pointed out it was right in front of them. He told them it was a collection of accessories. The student lied that Filch was on the way and they should run. They left the box behind to frame them so they'd get in trouble with Filch. They later realised they had been tricked and tried to duel the student, only to lose when they used the box against them.

They went to the Library one night to find a newspaper article about Daniel. Daniel, Ivy Warrington and their friend found out that they had broken curfew and went to find out why. They watched the group at a distance, until Colby noticed and told Cassandra.

Third year

Colby and Fischer stayed at Hogwarts over the Christmas holidays. They saw the student and Daniel talking in the Great Hall about being on their own for New Year's Eve. They made fun of them for being "losers" and wondered if their friends realised they weren't worth it. After they were called out for also being on their own, Fischer claimed they had a very exclusive party to go to. Colby was confused and told him he thought they were just going to steal dessert in the Hogwarts kitchens because they didn't receive invites to anything.

Fischer "reminded" Colby that they did have an invite to a party, but then told him off at the side for revealing the truth. The student then invited Fischer and Colby to be friends for the day and go to Hogsmeade with them. They agreed to do them a favour and help lessen their loneliness. They spent the day in the village before they arranged a firework display. After, they both told the student and Daniel that they had to go back to being "enemies" the next day.

Personality and traits

Fischer had a mean-spirited personality and enjoyed bullying others with his friends. He and Colby were anatagonistic and didn't consider friendship a priority as they preferred to duel people instead.

He was known to like Defence Against the Dark Arts and Quidditch, and disliked History of Magic at Hogwarts.

Magical abilities and skills

• Charms: Fischer was able to produce a corporeal Patronus in the form of a crocodile, an exceptional magical feat for a Hogwarts student.
• Defence Against the Dark Arts: Fischer was known to enjoy the subject of Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts.

Possessions

• Wand: Fischer's wand was 12¼ inches, made of ash with a unicorn hair core.

Rob DeBorde: "Oh, yes, definitely. Fischer’s eyes are a slightly darker shade of mean. No? Okay, so maybe you can’t tell the brothers apart by looking at them, but they do have different personalities. Fischer is the leader, more apt to draw his wand, and always eager to start a fight. Colby is the sensitive soul who hesitates before casting that curse (sometimes) and would rather not get into trouble but has difficulty saying no to his brother. He also has a secret crush on Cassandra, which is going to be an issue later in the story when Cass and Daniel…oops, I’ve said too much!"
