The New York Affair was a No-Maj romantic musical adapted by playwright Maurice Willard from a book by Maxwell Lima. Lima's book was in turn based on a story idea by Franklin Greenwood and Mattie Lovett. The play was scored, collaboratively, by Harold Grace and Lawrence Feldman, but its lyrics were written by Grace alone.
A production of this play was ongoing at the Brockman Theatre in New York in December 1926 when Newt Scamander visited the city. This production starred Edward Fountain and Virginia Flowers, and also featured Eugene McAllister, Raymond Bloom, and a "special appearance" by Arlene Piper.[1]
