Ito Konno Kinase (née Tsurumaki; 31 December 1889 – 24 January 2003) was a validated Japanese-American supercentenarian.

Biography[]

Ito Konno Kinase was born in Iizaka, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan on 31 December 1889. She moved to San Francisco in 1916. She married Kiyoshi Konno and lived in Redmond from 1922 to 1942.

She lived in internment camps at Minidoka in Idaho and Heart Mountain in Wyoming during World War II. After the war she lived in Portland, Chicago and San Francisco. She moved to Hawaii in the 1960s.

Mrs. Konno-Kinase was the oldest Issei naturalized citizen in the United States.

She was affiliated with the Deschutes County Fair. She hiked Diamond Head in Hawaii at 100 years old and was active at her local senior citizen's center until she was 105.

Konno-Kinase was an avid gardener. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren. At the time of her death, she had 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ito Konno Kinase died in Hawaii, United States on 24 January 2003 at 113 years, 24 days. She is the currently the oldest validated person ever to die in Hawaii.
