Energy startup INFRGY has developed a prototype that can capture surrounding radio waves and convert them into usable direct current (DC) electricity. The device operates by capturing energy from the surrounding environment, converting radio frequency (RF) signals into usable direct current (DC) electricity. Notably, it yields an output surpassing its input, challenging conventional energy paradigms and hinting at enhanced efficiencies.

While INFRGY affirms that the additional energy is sourced from the environment, the precise mechanism remains undisclosed. Presently, the National Institute of Technology Srinagar is scrutinizing the technology's capability to convert radio waves into DC power, with a specific focus on the purported output amplification.

"What sets this wireless device apart is its versatility. Despite its compact size, the INFRGY prototype integrates various technologies seamlessly, transcending conventional limitations in power transmission," said Co-founder Parvez Rishi.

While the concept of over-unity devices has historical roots, its viability remains contentious within scientific circles. Rishi underscored the broader environmental significance of integrated wireless technology. In an era marred by the adverse impacts of fossil fuel reliance on the environment, wireless energy solutions offer a glimmer of optimism. By curbing air pollution and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, this innovation represents a pivotal stride towards a cleaner, more sustainable future, Rishi said.
