Meghan Trainor had a “horrific” miscarriage scare during an on-camera interview with Ryan Seacrest when she was pregnant with her second child.

The singer recently appeared on an episode of Mythical Kitchen’s Last Meal, where she opened up about the terrifying experience for the first time.

According to Trainor, her pregnancy test came back positive the morning she was doing press for her second album Takin’ It Back. However, she told host Josh Scherer that she began “gushing blood” right before she did her last interview with Seacrest.

“Like, I ruined a chair! I go, ‘Oh, no!’ And they’re like, ‘Okay, Ryan Seacrest is on — go!'” she recalled. “I did that whole interview like, ‘Don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry’ and then got through it. I shut the computer and was like, ‘Hey team, I think I’m miscarrying right now.'”

She added, “I went to the bathroom and saw what was happening and was like, ‘Alright. I had a baby this morning and now they’re gone.'”

As it turned out, there was nothing wrong with the baby. Trainor said she continued to take pregnancy tests that all came back positive, though she still waited until she thought she was six weeks along to visit her doctor.

“[The OBGYN] went in and goes, ‘Woah! That’s a 10-week-old baby!’ I was like, ‘I’ve been pregnant this whole time?!'” she said, noting that she had a bun in the oven since she performed “Made You Look” on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in October 2022.

Trainor later welcomed her second son, Barry, with Spy Kids actor Daryl Sabara in July 2023. The married couple also has a three-year-old son named Riley.

“Every time I look at [Barry] I’m like, ‘How are you here?’” she said. “What a little miracle and what a nightmare you were in the beginning.”

Despite the rough start to her pregnancy and two cesarian sections, Trainor recently revealed on The Drew Barrymore Show that she wants to have more babies.

“I’m done but I’m not, I need two more kids. I want daughters,” she said, telling Drew Barrymore that she’s “trying to make one” but she’s been “busy.”
