Pat Sajak suggested (letter)-turning things around with Vanna White at the end of Monday night’s (Jan. 29) installment of Wheel of Fortune.

According to the New York Post, everything spun into place when the show featured a glimpse of Glücksrad, the German iteration of Wheel in which they “do something interesting,” according to Sajak.

“The host and the hostess decide who’s going to be at the puzzle board and who is going to be at the wheel,” he explained.

White replied, “And they switch in the middle?”

Sajak joked that he and White “should try that.”

“Maybe next season,” he teased, as he’s retiring after the current Season 41, and would never have a chance to try out the swapped roles.

That honor would go to Ryan Seacrest, who was quickly announced as Sajak’s successor, although an insider claimed to The Daily Mail last year that White “was disappointed that they didn’t give her more of a chance to take over Pat’s job.”

White reportedly lawyered up for better pay, and allegedly secured a “believed” pay raise along with a two-year contract extension. However, she claimed to People that the chatter around the negotiations was “blown out of proportion,” arguing that “people just have rumors.”

Both White and Seacrest have expressed their praise for each other, with the latter deeming the former an “icon.” Nonetheless, Seacrest may not be up for the switch-up, as he previously told People that he knows not to mess with a show that has been “such a success and has been for generations.”

“You don’t mess with it, just don’t mess with it,” he said. “Just get out of the way, say ‘Good evening’ and let’s play.”

As for the results of last night’s episode, eventual frontrunner Ryan DiMarco slipped up on the Bonus Puzzle by a mere letter, per TV Insider.

Wheel of Fortune airs on weeknights at 7:30/6:30c. Check out their website for your local listings.
