After news broke that Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis were among the group of people who wrote letters in support of actor Danny Masterson during his rape trial, many That ’70s Show fans took to Twitter to praise series lead Topher Grace for not getting involved.

“Shout out to Topher Grace for not being a weirdo like the rest of the Thats 70s Show,” one fan tweeted.

“You know who ISN’T making a fool of himself in this case.. TOPHER GRACE, BLESS HIS UNPROBLEMATIC SOUL,” another fan wrote.

According to copies of their letters to Judge Charlaine Olmedo, which were obtained by journalist Tony Ortega, the couple highlighted Masterson’s parenting skills and shared anecdotes from their decades-long friendships to illustrate his “exceptional character” and sway the judge’s sentencing. Kutcher also maintained in his letter that he does “not believe [Masterson] is an ongoing harm to society.”

Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison on Thursday after being found guilty on two counts of forcible rape.

Kutcher and Kunis weren’t the only cast members from the hit sitcom to write to the judge presiding over Masterson’s case. Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith, who played Kitty and Red Foreman on the show, also showed their support by submitting letters in support prior to his sentencing.

Actors Giovanni Ribisi, whose father is also a Scientologist, and William Baldwin, who is married to Masterson’s sister-in-law, also wrote letters regarding Masterson.

So far, it appears that Grace, Laura Prepon and Wilmer Valderrama were the only regular cast members from the show who did not submit letters on Masterson’s behalf.

Grace’s representation did not immediately respond to Decider’s request for comment.

Many fans on Twitter pointed to a 2006 episode of E! True Hollywood Story that appeared to indicate that Grace did not get along with the rest of the cast behind the scenes. “They framed it in a way where Topher looked stuck up, but now as an adult it makes complete sense,” one fan recalled.

Masterson will be 77 years old when he is eligible for parole.
