Need to update the territories in Gaza controlled by Israel since the 2023 war. Vardaitis Pavardaitis (talk) 17:04, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The zones are still the same afaik. These A and B zones are contractual agreements (or even uni-lateral declarations) and exist first and foremost on paper. Since the ongoing military operations started they perhaps became de-facto somewhat meaningless - especially in the Gaza strip. It is - and it always was - questionable how sovereign the Palestinian poulation in the A or B zone can determine their own fate anyway. You shouldn't think of this map like an illustration of de-facto sovereignty or de-facto military (or police) control. It only shows what the title says: the zones A and B (and subsequently the zone C) w/o determining what this actually means in terms of power distribution. Thus the map shouldn't change prematurely. This map simply isn't necessarily a reflection of control on the ground. I'll however monitor the situation. The situation is very fluid and nobody can predict the outcome at this point. Thus, my maps in this series will eventually change but that may take some time and changes won't certainly happen before the dust in the region literally settles. And this point of time could be months or even years after the hot conflict has ended. I'm not a war correspondent ... --TUBS 11:23, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
