It continues to show pre-July 9 territory....argh--Orlovic (talk) 14:13, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, this is kinda strange indeed... Nothing happens, not even after purging... Silver Spoon (talk) 14:23, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think there is something wrong with the thumb-generator, it seems all non-standard sizes are ok [1]. Silver Spoon (talk) 14:27, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The thumbnail is malfunctioning. I tried purging the page, and it didn't work. In the meantime, enjoy watching 20+ users trying to revert to previous version(s) of the image. —stay (sic)! 22:29, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
LOL. I have occasionally same problem with preview of new versions of some images and mass reverting on this page is clear sign that something should be done about these image preview problems already. There is good chance that problem with this image will fix itself in next 30 days, but there is no guarantee (and many people might lost their nerves because of this in these 30 days). I saw one image whose preview showed old file version for several months and it was changed only after my revert. So, reverting sometimes helps, but sometimes not. By the way, did somebody considered option to revert this image to its original form which show old Sudan before southern independence (why not keeping map of historical Sudan too?) and to upload image that show smaller Sudan under separate file name? That would solve this problem for good but replacing of old image with new one in all Wikipedias would be large task. :) PANONIAN (talk) 00:06, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm thinking maybe the only way to quickly fix this thumbnail issue is to have an administrator delete this file, and create a new one. Unfortunately it may be difficult, since so many wikipedias use this file for Sudan, or South Sudan. Someone, a bot or user, will have to manually replace or update the file in each different wikipedia, another tedious task. —stay (sic)! 00:25, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that is not bad idea. If administrator delete this file, new one could be uploaded immediately under exactly same name and then new file will automatically appear in all Wikipedias. Of course, before file deleting, someone should backup data from file page - categories, date of creation, name of author, license, etc. PANONIAN (talk) 07:51, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
