Delete This image is fake and is used only in Armennian Wikipedia providing its readers with this fake information. Azerbaijan's map should be with the territory of Nagorno Karabakh and surrounding districts because first, these territories are de-jure in Azerbaijan and are within the internationally recognized territory of Azerbaijan[1], and secondly, Azerbaijan in October 2023 restored its control over these territories. Unrecognized Artsakh no more exitsts[2] according to the decree of their so called president[3]. So, de-jure and de facto these territories are in Azerbaijan. In Armenian Wikipedia the map in the main article about Azerbaijan should be replaced with this correct one. So, there is no any reason to keep this file in Commons untill we don't want to mislead our readers.--Interfase (talk) 15:53, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Keep Not subject to removal under any of the rules. This is a version of the historical map of Azerbaijan without Artsakh, which is also written in the title description. If you object to its use on the Armenian Wikipedia, you can easily reach out to them for assistance. There are a lot of images showing the map of Azerbaijan without the occupied territories or showing these territories by another color. For example this one. But such type of images showing the map of the country on the Earth are used on the main articles about the country. And there is no mo reason to keep this image as these territories are de-jure and de-facto in Azerbaijan. Interfase (talk) 14:45, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Stating the image depicts "fake" information is wrong. That's simply not true. The map accurately depicted the de facto situation which persisted for 30 years. Therefore, it should be kept for historical purposes, there are hundreds of thousands of historical maps on Wikipedia for things that don’t exist currently. There are already maps for historical purposes with correct labels and descriptions. This map's purpose is only to use as a main map of the country in the articles about the country. It is no more actual as de facto these territories are all Azerbaijan. Interfase (talk) 15:05, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: Currently in use on Armenian wikipedia. Commons doesn't make editorial decisions for sister projects. --The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 06:22, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
