I doubt the uploader owns the rights to this stamp. J Milburn (talk) 15:21, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think {{PD-old}} will complete the work.--R ašo 22:33, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Who designed the stamp, and when did they die? If not known, when was the stamp put into usage? J Milburn (talk) 00:57, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've added the Category:1910 stamps. I think that is enough.--R ašo 08:49, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Why do you feel that is enough? Why do you feel this is in the public domain? If it was published in 1910, it is PD in the US, but is not necessarily PD in Portugal (so far as I know) which would also be needed for the image to be hosted on Commons. J Milburn (talk) 22:24, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Try to put the correct license. I just tried to help to not erase the stamp. Go to the Category:1910 stamps and see how the others are licensed. According to you, we should delete all stamps, or not?--R ašo 23:21, 18 September 2010 (UTC) P.S. Look here. Why we do not have PD-Portugal template????[reply]
Right, look, I'm not really in the mood to mess around with stupid questions. Can you prove that this stamp is in the public domain? If you can, do so. J Milburn (talk) 23:55, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Engraver was Domingos Alves do Rego, I cannot find a death year. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 22:58, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And I also can not find. I only know that he was born on 12th February 1874.--R ašo 09:00, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually this is a scan of a stamp from my collection, so I do have the rights to this image. Please let me know if any prove is needed. All the best, LuisNatario

The fact that you own a stamp does not mean that you own the rights to it. Equally, I have a book about mushrooms next to me, it doesn't mean I can upload scans of images in the book as my own work. J Milburn (talk) 15:32, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In Portugal, the rights last 70 years. Check here (in portuguese). The rights to this image belong to the portuguese postal authority, and not the artist. This stamp is from 1910, consequently, public domain. All the best, LuisNatario 09:05, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Your reference says "Vida+70" for Portugal. This is free only when it can be shown that the engraver died more than 70 years ago. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 09:13, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted, no evidence that the author of this image died 70+ years ago. Kameraad Pjotr 20:44, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
