Assistant Cheesemaker

Nettle Meadow is growing and we need a driven and passionate cheesemaker to join our team of hard-working and continually award winning amazing cheesemakers!  We make some of the best bloomy rinds, washed rinds and fresh cheeses in America and we are ready and willing to show you how we do all of it!

 

You would make cheese, work in the aging caves, do your part of cleaning cleaning cleaning and help with packaging of cheeses as needed.   Our work is done in an amazing 18,000 square foot log structure with that boasts one of the largest fireplaces in the Adirondacks.  We are just a short walk from some of the most peaceful and refreshing lakes in the Adirondack region, in a peaceful town that really embraces all four seasons - a stones throw from Lake George and a short drive to Saratoga. 

 

Are you hard working, love cheese, clean, careful, work well independently but also appreciate being a team player?  Do you want to be a part of making our best selling Kunik, Adironjack, Briar Summit, Sappy Ewe?  Do you want to be a part of one of the most animal affirming farm animal sanctuaries in America with all of the magic that comes with our pampered critters?  Then this amazing creamery spot is for you!  If you have limited cheesemaking background, we will train you.  If you have extensive cheesemaking background we will pay you well for your experience.  Either way we will welcome you with open arms to our small family of dedicated cheesemakers.

 

We are looking for someone who embraces the hygienic and sanitation side of cheesemaking and understands that cheesemaking is hard physical work.

 

Excellent starting pay dependent upon experience.  Health insurance after 90 day probation period.  401k.  Vacation and holiday pay.
