SUMMER 2023 – FALL 2024

After more than 10 years of Park use, the entrance to Brooklyn Bridge Park at Pier 1 is being re-designed to better serve the millions of summer visitors. After engaging with consultants, the Park’s original designers, and community members, a plan to renovate the Pier 1 entrance has been finalized.

The Pier 1 entrance will be renovated to become the grand entrance, meeting point, and urban oasis this popular destination needs! The newly designed area will provide an entrance into the Park that will better circulate pedestrian and bike traffic and will provide a shaded space where visitors can meet, regroup, or take in the bustling scenery in the Park and on the river. Renovations will include a new LEED Gold concession building complete with permanent public restrooms.

During construction, Pier 1 and the entirety of Brooklyn Bridge Park will remain open. For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, please follow all signage related to any temporary detours and directives to dismount bicycles.

Maintaining safety is Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s number one priority and we continue to monitor and follow state, city, and CDC guidelines to limit the spread of COVID-19 at our events and programs.

For the well-being of our community, we ask that anyone who exhibits any symptoms of COVID-19 or has recently come into contact with someone who has COVID-19 please stay home.

Masks are optional, but still encouraged for any indoor programs as well as crowded outdoor events. All participants must read and complete our updated waivers where applicable.
